All scanned gears were picked randomly from the manufacturing process with none bias to a selected end result. The COCO annotator was used to generate bounding-boxes around the scanned damaged tooth defects. From these scans, 1711 images automotive gears had been discovered to have a defect, and a complete of 3172 defects had been labeled.
